The premise of this tradition is that Santa has sent one of his trusted little elves to stay in your home with you throughout the holiday season and then report back to Santa when your children are naughty and when they are nice. We named our elf “Dobby” (yes, from Harry Potter) but my boys both wanted their own elf so Santa was kind enough to dispatch another (which I explained was Dobby’s brother and that they really missed eachother lol). We’ve named him Kwazzi, after Connor’s favourite character on the show The Octanauts. Each night while the boys are asleep, these little troublemakers have been getting in to some interesting situations. Zach and Connor are now at the point where they are racing down the stairs to see what the elves did each morning and they are getting a real kick out it.
I’ll try to post photos of the different scenes I create each evening…some may be cheesy but don’t judge, I am typically doing these at midnight and half asleep already 😉

hilarious! Love love the Barbie one Sara. I’m going to have to copy you next year 🙂
Fantastic. I can’t wait to see more.
I found you post from Pinterest. Really really great ideas (and pictures).
I only recently discovered the whole elf on the shelf craze but these are by far the best images I’ve seen. Great job, i hope your kids enjoyed it.
Hi Sara! I just had to comment on your Elf photos! We had an Elf on a Shelf this year too, but we weren’t near as creative as you! We wanted the girls to name our elf “Dobby” as well, but they insisted on naming him Sam. : ) You’ve inspired me for next Christmas time! xo
