10 on 10 > February

I can’t believe a month has already past us by and I have barely posted anything (did I mention I am the furthest thing from a ‘good blogger’).

The weekend was somewhat busy ~ newborn session on Saturday, birthday for my bestie Kim in the evening and Sunday was of course me dragging my camera around all day snapping randomness.  It started at Cora’s for brunch with Chamanda.  I laughed when Chad texted me to say we needed to go early… like 11am.  Um is that early in your world Chad?  You OBVIOUSLY don’t have kids.  Amanda had to take off early so I dragged Chad out to the dreaded Walmart shopping after (thanks for loaning me your hubby).

I wasn’t feeling overly inspired this Sunday so I stopped off to pick up some flowers for myself to both cheer me up and give me a subject for a few pictures…even busted out the macro lens after Caroline mentioned her 10 on 10 was going to be all macro shots.

Did I mention I had a newborn session on Saturday?  I usually cull the session immediately after but I didn’t have time so I went through them on Sunday and am about to start editing….Do you think this can count as a ‘Sneak Peek’ for the parents? lol.

My day ended with a walk…a walk where my life flashed before my eyes.  It started off with a large group of ducks nestled beside a frozen stream.  Of course my first thought was ‘photo op’ so out came the camera.  As I was attempting to get my lens cap back on after, my dog bolted and ripped her leash right out of my hands…I tried to get shots of it because at first I thought it was amusing (you can see her blurred head in the third shot down from here)…but next thing I hear is a large splash.  Jessie ran full steam ahead and dove into a hole in the stream.  First of all, it was FREEZING outside and secondly the stream was pretty deep in this one spot where she dove in and all I could see was her struggling to get out.  Without thinking I ran after her on to the ice (with my camera flying all over the place).  I heard it cracking under my feet and I have to admit that I started to panic but thankfully it held under my weight and I slowly edged my way over to her, grabbed her by the collar and dragged her out.    Phew!   I ran home with her stuffed in my jacket because I was scared she might get hypothermia or something.  Now that I look back, it was pretty funny actually…she’s so dumb!  I came across some kids playing hockey on the pond that the stream fed into.

And this shot is included just to illustrate how much snow we got in ONE day.  There was seriously no snow on the ground until Friday when we had a huge storm.  Apparently more snow fell in this one day than all of last year here (that’s about two feet high there).
